For our company it is a great pleasure to show history of Kyrgyzstan as an introduction of a future breath-taking tour! First it should be noted that it is rich and interesting, starting in 201BC. Before this time there are no any notions about the Kyrgyz people. But it is clear that they lived the nomadic way of life, going from one pasture of the mountains, to the other. Let's get acquainted with the periods of the country's history:
Prehistory (1 million years ago - 1 000 BC). Prehistory is known to be since 1 million years ago to 1000BC. It is the time of the development of cultural and artistic life of the people. All of the testimonies can be seen in the Rock Art Gallery in Cholpon Ata. As we know there were no skills of writing, and everything was going orally. But still in the Rock Art Gallery in Cholpon Ata there are images of 2000 kinds showing the everyday doings, petroglyphs, animals.
Ancient History (1 000 BC - 300 AD). Ancient History is the time of 1 000 BC - 300 AD, when there was the first mentioning of the Kyrgyz people in a written way. In 201BC, in the chronicle "Historical notes" of Sima Tan the Kyrgyz were named as the people fighting with the Hunnu. Then in the other chronicle Han-shu (History of Han) of the 1st century BC, by Ban Gu the Kyrgyz are mentioned to be with the Kyrgyz state. It seemed to be located at the territory of Eastern Turkestan of our times.
Turkic Era (500-1200). The period of 500-1200 is known as the Turkic Era, the time of tragic events for the Kyrgyz people. In 6-13th centuries the tribes were moving from the mountains of Altai to the territory of the country of our times. The tribes were Turkic-speakers as it was a period of Turkic dynasties. Until the 7th century nothing was known about the Kyrgyz people, and then thanks to the Chinese notes it became known that in the 7th century there was the establishment of Kyrgyz Kaganate. Then in the 9th century the Kaganate was from from the Irtysh River in the west to the Big Khingan range in the east, from the Angara and Selenga Rivers in the north to the Gobi Desert in the south.
The Mongol Rule (1200-1400). In the times of Kyrgyzstan tours it becomes possible to get to know the details of the period of the Mongol Rule, 1200-1400. It used to be one of the most dreadful times as the people were suffering from threats of the Mongols. It was Genghis Khan who came here in the 13th century to destroy the already developed culture of the Turkic tribes. In 1207 the people had to go under the rules of the Khan. In 12-15th centuries the Kyrgyz people started to adopt the culture and religion Islam. Though there are still the people who follow shamanistic traditions.
Kyrgyz consolidation (1400-1800). The period of 1400-1800 is known as the Kyrgyz consolidation, the time when the Kyrgyz tribes were trying to create the united tribe with the only one head. In the 15th century the people were moving to the territory of the modern country along with being not the united statehood. In the result the Kyrgyz created the state with several tribes - in modern like districts or regions.
Russian Colonization (1770-1917). Russian colonization is the time of 1770-1917 when the territory of the country was going under the rules of the Russian Empire. The northern state was suffering from threats of the inner tribes along with the threats of the outer countries - China, Kokand and Kazakhs. In the result there was the annexation of the country, the north was eager to be the part and the south was taken by force. In the result there was created the system of administrative establishment.
Soviet Rule (1917-1991). The period of 1917-1991 is identified as the Soviet Rule. It is the time when the powers of Bolsheviks came and destroyed the developed culture of the Russian Empire at the territory of the country. When the Soviets came they claimed the absence of exploitation, the development of education, culture, art. In the result there appeared the autonomous republic and statehood. But the main problem of that power was seen in the prohibitions to believe in something, something which can't be seen, like God. So there were massive murders of the people.
Independent Kyrgyzstan (since 1991). Guests now travel in the country where we see independency. Now Kyrgyzstan tours are more free, without any difficulties. There have been made various changes like in 1992 the country started to be the member of the UN, than in 1993 there was developed constitution. But the problem was seen in the instability of the country. There was crisis and the country suffered from revolutions. In 2005 and 2010 the people asked for the government and the president to resign. It was dangerous to be at the streets, in the center of the city as lots of people died. Then everything became normal and now it is a peaceful area.
